About Us:

The American Muslim Institute (AMI) is a local, autonomous nonprofit organization founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in 2006.

AMI is nondenominational and welcomes all Muslims.
Men and women have equal opportunities in leadership
and activities.

AMI is a founding member of Tri-Faith Initiative of Omaha, a globally unique project that deliberately co-locates a synagogue, church and mosque with a common desire to foster mutual understanding, respect and friendship. AMI looks forward to an enduring partnership with our brothers and sisters of the Abrahamic faiths.

Our Mission:

To promote a better understanding of Islam in the Western world.

Building Campaign:

The American Muslim Institute (AMI) is currently raising funds to construct the AMI’s educational institute and worship center to be located on the Tri-Faith campus. The educational institute and worship center will promote study and research focusing on the history of the great Islamic civilization and the rich cultural diversity of the Muslim population of the world.

All funding for the new facility comes from local sources, and local leadership will drive the educational, cultural and religious programs that will make the Institute thrive.

We hope that our work inspires you to get involved and to donate to our cause.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered in the State of Nebraska and all donations are tax deductible.

Board of Directors:

Our board of directors is comprised of community leaders who are passionate and committed to our mission, vision and core values.
